The Airplane Filling Station Preservation Association has been awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Tennessee Historical Commission. Check out the letter that we received from the State. This is excellent news, and we would like to thank everyone who has helped us make this project an ongoing success.

Why is it important to save the Airplane Filling Station?

The second phase of restoration will focus on interior stabilization, including walls, ceilings, floors, foundation repairs, and critical structural repairs to the nose of the plane. The work is being funded in part with funds from the National Park Service, Department of the Interior and the Tennessee Historical Commission. The first phase of restoration was completed in the spring of 2007.
