KNOXVILLE (AP) -- A landmark in Knox County is getting some money for renovations.
A filling station shaped like an airplane along Route 25 in Powell has been falling into disrepair. The propellor is gone and the red and blue paint has faded since it was built in 1930.
Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale presented a $15,000 check to a preservation group to aid the renovation.
Last year, the building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
